Walshestown Restoration is Ireland’s first soil recovery facility dedicated to the reclamation of sand and gravel from excavated materials.
We offer a range of specialised services to provide the most innovative and effective solutions in dealing with environmental and waste management. These include land restoration and reclamation to maximise the potential of redundant sites and support the redevelopment of the local ecosystem, and full soil recovery solutions, to contribute to our vision of a fully circular Irish economy.
Our skilful teams professionally plan and deliver all stages of the contract to provide an environmentally compliant, cost-effective solution. We pride ourselves on building an excellent reputation for delivering projects safely, on time and budget. Our expertise, attention to detail, and reliability have combined to see us establish close working relationships with the major operators in the Irish construction sector. We are proud of the reputation we have gained thus far, and we are dedicated to working to maintain it.
RESTORATION
Walshestown Restoration is committed to following international best practice for restoration and rehabilitation of contaminated land. We utilise a risk-based and multi-stage approach that includes site characterisation and assessment; corrective action feasibility and design; and corrective action implementation and aftercare.
This consistent approach ensures that we implement an optimal standard of works, that we understand and deal with all issues appropriately, and that we gain EPA approval for closing out such issues on contaminated sites in an efficient manner.
LAND RECLAMATION
Land reclamation in Ireland is governed by strict and complex legislation. Walshestown Restoration provides the expertise required for the planning and undertaking of any such project. We assess both short- and long-term goals, and identify the appropriate actions with regard to issues such as soil salinity or alkalinity, and restoring ecological productivity and balance.
We ensure optimum results to bring economic and/or recreational benefits to the communities surrounding the area, and can also assist in longer-term monitoring of the reclaimed site.

SOIL RECOVERY
Soil recovery is at the very heart of our operation. We are licensed by the EPA to accept construction and demolition waste, along with dredging spoil and filter media from water treatment plants. All is treated at our 100-acre site in Co. Kildare, and best use made of the recovered materials.
This includes reintroduction of materials into the supply chain in order to reduce costs to our clients, and use of other inert materials in land reclamation.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
The core principle of a Circular Economy is to minimise waste, by keeping products and materials in use for as long as possible. This is at the very core of all Walshestown Restoration operations, as we believe that all excavated materials can be reclaimed, restored and reintroduced into construction supply chains.
We are advocates of the EPA Circular Economy Programme, which incorporates the previous National Waste Prevention Programme and sets out a roadmap for the growth of our economy in a sustainable way.
